Spell Checker in AWARD®

AWARD® utilises your browser’s built-in spell check functionality to check your spelling. To do this, you need to press a combination of keys on your keyboard and then click on the word that you want to check or correct.

  • For Windows users, press   ctrl + right click   on the word that you want to check or correct. A menu will pop up with spelling suggestions and other options. Select the suggestion that you want or ignore the word if it is correct.
  • For MacOS users, press   cmd + right click   on the word that you want to check or correct. A menu will pop up with spelling suggestions and other options. Select the suggestion that you want or ignore the word if it is correct.

This method will also bring up the browser’s default right click context menu, which may have other useful features, such as copying, pasting, searching, etc. This method should work in Chrome, Edge, and Firefox browsers.

Script Free Platform

If you don’t like the idea of using keyboard shortcuts and menus to access the spell checker, or if you don’t need the formatting capabilities like bold, lists, etc., you could switch to the script free platform. This platform will use a basic text box for entering text in AWARD®, which will show the spelling suggestions with a standard right click (i.e. no need to hold ctrl or cmd at the same time).

To switch to the script free platform, follow these steps:

  • Click on your profile name - Top Right hand corner of AWARD
  • Click on Edit
  • Set the PLATFORM to “Script Free”
  • Click on Save
  • Click on Close
